A lot of people who want attention, and they want attention because Attention now, thanks to virality, can be turned into capital and commerce. These people know that if they pist off the whole internet, like, they could monotize it. It's especially popular in the u k, but i think it is also happening in the us. I have complex feelings about all that stuff. Am not a anti cancel cultured person. But at the same time, like the bean dad fiasco was very strange. The anger on the internot this last year has just been verly fascinating to watch. It feels ike very out of control fire, in a way.
