Insurance Is a Profit-Seeking Enterprise
As a community, we maintain a fire department because it's rational to do so. The same applies to the possibility of sickness: I can get sick and want help if that happens. Insurance companies pick and choose who to market their insurance policies to; those with the most money need at least more. Millions of people who get a cough get sick over the last three years had COVID, but they didn't go to the doctor because their health insurance doesn't make that easily available.
