When you're just starting out the most important thing is consistency. Set your goals fairly low but achievable, and then build up from there. I think it does provide an avenue for coaching as well. And i know that myself, like, i'm a better version of myself once i've gone out for a run. But if you don't feel that you get the value out of it, because you do want to feel like you've earnt yer, yer post workout meal, or whatever.
