The Advantages of Developing Autonomous Driving for Middle-Mile Applications

In addition to being able to use a structured approach and dealing with more predictable routes, what are the other advantages to developing autonomous driving for this middle-mile application compared to other types of delivery? I think the overall spread in the industry right now, if you look at the spectrum, we have long haul or SAMIs essentially doing coast-to-coast deliveries on highways on one end. Then we have the sidewalk robots or smaller-form factor vehicles on the other end doing the last mile from store to consumer essentially. Essentially we have this whole middle-mile that caters to everything in between deliveries from distribution centers, fulfillment centers to other fulfillment centers, retail stores and all of that.
