In this English lesson, I wanted to help you learn the English phrase good to go. In English, when you say you are good to go, it means you are ready. Sometimes when Jen and I are leaving for a trip, Jen will say, are you ready to go? And I'll say, yep, I'm good to go. I'm all ready to leave. I'm all ready to go to our destination. Sometimes it even means just to be prepared to do something. At the beginning of the school year, someone might say to me, hey, Bob, are you good to go? Do you have all of your lessons ready? Are you ready for the first day of school? And I might reply by saying yes, absolutely. I am good to go. A lot of times when I get home from work, I still have to make a little video like this. So I grab all of my camera gear, and then once I have my paper, and my comment, and my camera gear, then I am definitely good to go.

The other phrase I wanted to teach you today is the phrase ready to roll. Now, I think I already taught this phrase about six months ago, but it kind of matches good to go. Good to go and ready to roll are both ways to say that you are ready to do something. So when Jen says, Bob, are you ready to go? I can say, yep, I'm ready to roll. I got my keys, I got my wallet. I got my watch, I got my wedding ring. What else do I usually bring? My phone, I'm ready to roll. So basically, just another way to say that you are ready to do something. And I would even say this at the beginning of a school year. Bob, do you have your lesson plans ready? Are you ready for the first day of school? And I could reply, and say, yep, I'm ready to roll.
So to review, when you are good to go, when you are ready to roll, sorry, the paper's not working right. When you are ready to roll, it means that you are completely and totally ready to do something. I should have worn my mittens today. I guess I wasn't totally good to go when I came out to do this video. I guess I was a little bit good to go.
Anyways, let's look at a comment from a previous video. This comment is from Judit. On Monday, we got an unexpected snowstorm here in Hungary. Not only the snow had fallen, but the wind also blew. And now we are looking forward to spring. I have read a lot of idioms with spring. As I got a client for massage on Friday, I can't join you live, but definitely will watch your lesson afterward. And my response, I'm sorry to hear you can't make Friday, but I'm happy that you can watch it later. So thanks, Judit, for that comment.
Yes, sometimes people who like to watch my Friday lesson on my other channel, sometimes they're not able to make it. And that is totally understandable. We are all very, very busy people. I know that for myself, I make sure that I schedule my week as best I can, but sometimes there are things where I'm just not able to make it, where I'm just not able to do it. So I'm glad that when I do my live lessons, it actually is recorded. And then later in the week, people can actually watch it when they have a bit more time. I do still really enjoy doing those Friday lessons, so I'm glad that people are able to enjoy them, and watch them.
