Are We Going to Have a Renaissance in the American Organizing Labor Movement?
i think it's not too soon to start to recognize we may be looking at a renaissance in the american organized labor movement. The number of strikes has increased in the past few years as well, and also successful strikes. But i think here you're pointing out the ways in which perhaps many of us in the united states have been naively hopeful for too long. And maybe now i will replace your word pragmatic with the word strategic. We have not been strategic enough. I think what keeps hope from being naive is that it's a shared hope. That also holds for those who share a hope for something that we find incredibly distopic.
