How to Prepare for a Minister's First Day
Every minister feels like they're thrown in the deep end. They might have some relevant experience, but none of them will have run a government department before. It's very difficult to prepare for that challenge, especially if you're coming from opposition. Ministers first days also look like the rest of their days. They're very long and they go at an astonishing pace. The demands on them are really, really huge. And you can see why it's so difficult to get used to.
