The Plausibility Structure of Science
We don't ever learn anything on our own without there being some authority outside of us that helps to confirm that thing that we're learning. This plausibility structure, this undercurrent of culture that kind of tells us what's true about the world. We now have a generation of people who are growing up on social media. And so the medium of social media becomes an authority in people's lives. If you were to suddenly take every social medit platform and have it disappear, people's worlds would suddenly be turned upside down.
