Are You Condemned to the Past?

The idea of sameness is the tool of domination, it's not biological determinism or something like that. In this work of assimilation, amnesia, you're forgetting the past place a very important role. The Western imperialism was deeply related to the idea of progress and they were actually saying: well, the colonized nations don't have future, they are unable to be in progress. And therefore the colonizers are actually having the future, they owning the future, while the colonized don’t own the future, and therefore the West is bringing the future to the colonizer.
