Training for a lot of us is just viewed as casual and predictable. But I guess I'm challenging runners to reinterpret their relationship with training. It should be the opportunity to expose yourself to some of the more uncomfortable moments that you might experience in race study. If our goals are just for exercise and enjoyment, well, maybe you needn't do this. Maybe training while simulating the real competitive experience isn't something that's mandatory. We know that in any inherent and any performance there are obstacles and some adversity and some unpredictable moments. So we have to be willing.
