The Evidence That Thomas North Written Plays

Almost no plays from the Elizabethan period have survived and madness, including Shakespeare's plays we have one fragment of a play that may be Shakespeare's in manuscript but even that is controversial. Dennis has spent years sort of looking at these kind of either satirical pamphlets or other plays that sort of mentioned North and sort of coded language. There are also some references like to payments to Thomas North for in the amounts that would have been paid for a play and it's right next to the payments for for players. So there are a lot of these references that McCarthy has been able to kind of drum up to support this theory but there's no kind of smoking gun he says.
