The Genealogy of Theory

In Maggie Nelson's book, you have the memoir and then quite literally in the margins, the sighting of names of theorists and philosophers. And so I think when readers were able to see that really direct shuttling between auto and theory in a text that around 2015 that's when this term really started to take off. Yeah, I really like that about the book actually because it's this genealogy I didn't really expect from coming from what you would think more of as art practices.
