Lady Macbeth Is Ruthless and Wishes Her Husband Had Not the Conscience
The first thing we hear from Lady Macbeth tells us much of what we need to know about her she gives a soliloquy to open scene five after reading her husband's letter. Many take the things lady Macbeth says as an indication that she lacks conscience but I think we will see that the deeds that are already set in motion will weigh heavily on her conscience they will burden her despite her bold protests. We might even say that her bold assertions belight a soul that knows it has corrupted itself with evil deeds and what are the evil deeds in question why the murdering of king Duncan? This is not a time in which men and women escaped trauma post-traumatic stress disorder there
