The Importance of Pain in Software Development

I think people ignore the fact that like projects cost money and you need to like prove that it's actually worth the money that's being spent. I feel like that's one of the reasons why some people would benefit from working at a startup or something small where they don't have a corporate budget. Usually it's like here's the big project you've got two years to build it. So it's not like you're sitting there thinking, Oh, I have to prove that this works in the next six months. It's more like we have plenty of time to sit down and design everything, get it right.
