John Major's Thatcherism
To what extent did John Major see himself as continuing Thatcherism? At what extent was he consciously trying to cover the different paths? If you look at European policy, there clearly was a conscious attempt to signal a different approach on Europe from the one that had been before. Economically, it felt pretty much a story of continuation. The policies that there were around the size of the state, privatization and tax all felt very familiar.
