Small Cap Value - The Biggest Loss in Returns Over 40 Years
Small cap value stocks are pretty volatile, and that's merriman advises having just ten % of the portfolio and small cap value. The last i checked, the average annual return for small cap value was around 14%. This basically just means that, since you're accepting more risk in your portfolio with the small cap value, you have a decent historical chance of achieving higher returns than you would otherwise without the small Cap Value fund.
