The Last Time John Stonehouse Was Alive
John Stonehouse was MP for Wall Saul North in the West Midlands. Was a quick supporter of Harold Wilson when he became Labour leader and eventually Prime Minister. He was promoted to more senior ministerial positions, including postmaster general. Tipped as future PM by chat shows; David Frost programme loved him. In 1969 is summoned to number 10 but finds himself being an informer on Czechoslovakian spies.
