Is There a Supply Chain Crisis in the Textile Industry?

The cost of food and everything you could buy, the cost of living in general, is going up pretty significantly. The merchant class had to figure out a way to contain these rising costs. So they tried to reduce wages while at the same time bringing in new improved technology. It reminds me of this great mitchell and webb sketch about the stone age entering the bronze age.
