The Connection Between Digitalis and Van Gogh
Van Gogh had multiple health issues and symptoms that really affected throughout his whole adult life. The consensus seems to be that he probably had schizoaffective disorder and comorbid epilepsy. He also painted two portraits of his physician, Dr. Paul Gache, holding a fox glove plant. It's not inconceivable that he would have received it at some point in those final couple of years.
