Introduction

Gabriel: I am an architectural urban historian, and my day job is teaching in the hilliard college of architecture and design at the new jersey institute of technology. Most of my work deals with what i like to now call metropolitan landscapes; one never knows where does urban end and suburban begin? It's not usually at a kind of municipal line. And so it's been fascinating to be there, seeing the metropolitan landscape of newark and the entire state.
