How to Protect Yourself From Anger and Longing

If you have a sense of anger or longing something that bubbles up from within maybe it's a feeling of being unseen or invisible or suffocated or ignored in that moment you will feel a desire to protect yourself. You'll say, oh wow that's something that doesn't sit right with me. And in the moment you will have to set a boundary based on that. So how would that work? We protect ourselves with our actions like we would with a young child and then they don't get to play with you anymore.
