Some people say that there are lots of hidden meanings in it or meanings which are not that obvious. Kubrick has intentionally put little symbolic things in, which mean that the film is actually about something much larger or something else. And also, of course, it's just remarkably creepy with the two twins. The story doesn't really make any sense at all. It's a bit complicated story.
