The Uprising in East Germany

Helmut Strecher was in Berlin during the 1952 East German uprising. He saw Soviet tanks rolling into the city, killing 55 people. Many more were sent to labor camps and later died as a result of martial law. Helmut's belief in communism did not deter him though - he became an economist.
