The Pandemic - Are We Making Stuff Just for Ourself or for the Audience?
I wrote that song just as a reaction to Derek Chauvin being convicted for George Floyd's murder last year. I only made that song because people were begging me for it. It's interesting that strong political or social commentary in songs now, whether right or wrong, we'll get immediate backlash from community. And there's a community online almost waiting for someone to say, and I feel like that's affecting a generation that only know online.
