Generative art has existed forever, but under these very strict circumstances and guidelines, this is a new way of doing it that has I think forced artists to really elevate what they're doing. This is the artist being forced to craft their algorithm way more like intensely than when they are at home getting to curate and select their work. Digital scarcity is played such a huge part in what's happening with generative art. A lot of the artists that have found significant success on our box today have been crafting generative algorithms for a decade or even more.
