Most people don't understand that capital can work for you, says the author. The typical American household earns about 65 thousand dollars per year. People wake up every morning feeling inadequatequate and feel like they need more,. So they go to work and try to push themselves as hard as they can. If everybody did that, there'd be no innovation, there would be no growth, and th we'd all kind of slip backwards. We're not any happier because it's just in expectations and comparison game.
