The Risks of Adjustable Rate Mortgages

An adjustable rate mortgage, the risk is that inflation and interest rates will go up. Many people are living through that right now. If you have unused borrowing capacity, it's really not a problem. The higher adjustable mortgage payments in the high inflation environment are just compensating lenders for the inflationary erosion of the debt. For fixed rate mortgages, you're obviously protected against that upside risk in mortgage payments.
