The History of Manusius

By 1500, Venice was already a major center of Latin printed editions. Pico and Barbaro Manusius undertook to print Aristotle's works in the original Greek. The Aldine edition also included work by his student Theophrastus. In 1503, Manusius had to issue a warning to buyers not to be fooled by knockoff editions using an imitation of his typeface.
