Professor Morrison: In a recent essay for the new criteria on Russian writer Sevalad Gershin you quoted philosopher Peter Lavrov saying quote mankind has paid dearly so that a few intellectuals sitting in their studies could discuss its progress end quote. What does he mean by it? Professor Morrison: The central idea of this group of people was that culture and civilization itself which were morally questionable regardless of how they were constructed.
