I Found the One Who's Done It, Right?
Paul is not inconsistent with the overall message. Paul's looking at Paul's looking beyond the one particular verse and the whole scope of the book. He approaches those topics, in other words, through a Christocentric lens. But that doesn't mean, as we said earlier, that he is disregarding the Old Testament texts or somehow interpreting it violently or relativistically. No, he's interpreted in light of the story, the story of Israel's election.
