The Solo Pastor: Understanding and Overcoming the Challenges of Leading Church
The median size church of the United States is under a hundred. About 75% of all churches, which is somewhere around 300,000 churches or so, are led by a single person. The solo pastor may have deacons, may have elders, may have other people to help them in a system and may even have a part-time secretary sometimes. In the smaller church, typically under 200, you're going to be seeing a solo pastor who's taking one hat off and putting another on within an hour or two.
