What I Learned in the Senate
In writing, you don't have people going down the hall and siing, let's have lunch together. That does that ever happen? Most of it is memo, but quite a lot can be visits to chambers. And if i'm going into your chambers, i'm not going to say, no, your argument isn't so good. This would not be a helpful way to start the conversation. If you go into somebody else's chambers, you better be prepared to listen to them, as well as hoping that they will listen to you. Then you try to see, and that's what i learned in the senate. Where is there some common ground? And is there common ground enough
