Should We Avoid General Anesthesia?

The mortality ratio for general anesthesia for xerian section compared to those with regional was 16.7 so that's alarmingly high. Brigham and Women's Hospital which reported their own data from 1990 their c-section general anesthesia rate was 7.2 percent but by 2005 they had actually willed it down to less than 1 percent. Some people I think I don't necessarily blame the obstetric anesthesia community for this I think it's just a misinterpretation of the literature and you're always going to have less complications with regional if the regional is done well.
