A lot of what I can do now comes from skill development and reading articles. When you look at a sample size, is that a good sample size? Is that representative of the group of the environment? Who's actually in that sample? Most of the time the answer is going to be yes. And if they don't cite anything in the paper, either the thing that they're trying to find a significant factor for hasn't been found. So common sense, ask questions that just make sense to you. If the conclusion doesn't have anything that's exciting, like they just pointed out the obvious, I don't bother reading it. It saves me like an hour of read-throughs
