Hackers can gain access to Wi-Fi networks by tricking devices into loading malicious content on their browsers. They could then use this information to attack the network from a variety of different locations, including smart plugs and routers. The attacks are similar to targeted advertising or phishing emails in that they target specific people at certain times before trying to get them to open an attachment.
