The City of New Orleans Will Never Be the Same
Bush was still on vacation when Hurricane Katrina slammed the Gulf Coast. He remained completely oblivious to the severity of the situation for two days until he took an aerial tour of New Orleans. Even then, Bush received a sanitized bird's eye view of the disaster from his helicopter window. What Bush knew was that 6,500 National Guard troops had arrived in New Orleans just like the doctor ordered.
