The Origins of Slavery
In ancient rome, the legal authorities of that society would return home to an extreme sort of private domain of patriarchy and slave ownership. So those slaves would do things like cut their hair and wash their feet. You can trace a direct genealogy from the slave society's conception of property to the present day.
