As a female, you want to be with the man who has the most status and the most resources. He gives you the best opportunity for your children to grow up in a safe environment. It's just the way that we're wired. And women didn't ask for a hypergamus nature. There are many men who would happily get into a relationship with a woman that earns more than him. But on average, most men don't want that,. Most women don't want to get into relationship with someone who earns less than them. Both genders are not having as much sex. The culture is reinforcing a damaging stereotype for women.
