Is the Torah Teaching of Humility a Part of the People?

Moses was willing to lower himself away from the heavens and become a part of the Hui-Pouai. So he becomes part of the nation rather than just a superior over them. Why is humility in that way not found in the philosophical tradition or is it in overlooking something? The whole Torah teaching is in a way to celebrate the possibility inherent in every human being, the Shabbat teaching.
