Charles Pillar: Study is regarded by many as one of the most promising in a long time. After 18 months on the drug, participants showed a 27% slower rate of progression of their Alzheimer's symptoms but they still worsened all the same. So it's going to be a tricky call for regulators and health funders to judge whether this pill is better than the ill. There are some serious side effects, including fatal brain hemorrhage.
