The Importance of Security Cooperation in the West Bank

Israel has had multiple opportunities to strengthen the stream within Palestinian politics manifested most concretely by Mahmoud Abbas that favors a negotiated two-state solution, a compromise, coexistence with Israel and he has repeatedly declined those opportunities. After a period in which Abbas saw his own position weakened we now have a violent conflict which is strengthening his primary adversary even more. The only reason those demonstrations haven't been bigger and more troublesome to Israel is because of PA security cooperation with Israeli forces and these Israeli government in the West.
