Middle Stone Age Technology - The Levalois Technique

Middle stone age technology is characterized by a technique known as prepared core. This means that you take a big chunk of suitable stone and shape it with a hammer stone in such a way that it's ready for you to break off flakes as necessary. And around that time, and over the subsequent millennia, we start to see evidence of this technology showing up all over africa. The omo kibish remains in ethiopia, previously to be the very earliest anatomically modern humans, now dated to around 233 thousand years ago, are associated with levaa technology.
