Chimera is a mythical or fictional creature made up of pieces or segments taken from different animals. According to legend, the original chimera was known as a bane to many men. He terrorized the countryside, eating live stock and people. A king decided to use him in a political plot by tricking he hero bellerophon into fighting it.
