What Do Opiates Really Do in the CNS?
Opiates cause aneugesia, also drowsiness and changes in mood. Patients who take opiates for pain will say that the pain is still there, but they're more comfortable. Opiates are better for no-susceptive pain than it is for neuropathic pain.
