We use side kick on top of redis as lee acuting system, which is still pretty much the go to for that. All our audio processing happens in in a background job. Api submissions to different podcast directories, like uploading to youtube. And all th male ad females are all, they're all background jobs. So i think it's pretty seamless. I don't know when it got easyer, necessarily. Maybe rails four, five or something.
