I applied to different PhD programs in the US and decided that NYU was the best fit. I had like two lab families really, one in linguistics with Alec and his group and then one in psychology with David's group. And I just literally just split my day in half, like I would spend the morning in one building and the afternoon and the other. It worked really well. Isn't that the story of our field, right? I mean, it's just like inherently you have to bridge these worlds, right? Like if you want to do language neuroscience research, you just need to be on the border of two things.
