Lazers are devices that generate light. You give em an electrical signal and they're able to start generating light. They're used in all sorts of traditional communications. The inner net that we're talking over right now is over fibre optics, and the communication is sent using using lazers to do that. So we're ableto leverage that same infra structure, lazers and silican fatonics to actually do corps computations that happen in deep learning.
