Is Critical Care Really the Primary Provider?

Every patient, at least in this country, has a primary provider and team. There are any number of consulting teams who are helping but technically they're just providing service or advice. It just ends up being confusing when there are sort of gradiations there. The critical care team is making 90 percent of decisions; the surgical team comes through and says things are important to them.
