Sheikh Mofeid and his students like Sharif Al-Mortada and Sheikh Tousi would establish some of the key features of 12 ersheism as we know it today. It is in this peer that we get some of the most formative scholars in Shihi history. The imam has complete authority and has all the answers whereas in the proto-Suni world there was no absolute leader but up to the community of scholars to figure out the answers best they could. But once the 12 imam went into occultation and was no longer reachable by the community what happens then?
