Cabotegravir: A Safe and Effective Injectable Option for PrEP
Cabotegravir is well tolerated with similar discontinuation rates as other PrEP therapies ranging from 1 to 6%. The most common adverse effect is injection site reaction, which was not severe enough to cause discontinuation. Other mild side effects include GI symptoms, headache, fever, and fatigue. It's also associated with hyperglycemia, dyslipidemia, and weight gain.
